The University of Iowa Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Anesthesia Nursing program is jointly sponsored by the University of Iowa College of Nursing and the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesia. Accredited by the CCNE and COA, our graduate program is designed for RNs with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN, BAN) who wish to pursue a career as a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) and prepares expert clinicians to be leaders for the profession of nurse anesthesia and the U.S. health care system.

When looking at schools, your introduction on the Anesthesia Nursing program website really caught my attention ‘If you want to be one of the most remarkable CRNAs in the country, you need to be an Iowa SRNA, and we’d love to talk with you!’ I couldn't get this out of my head and became fixated with attending Iowa.
I was impressed that with such small class sizes there appeared to be at least one military veteran in each class. That was a big deal to me because it showed me this was a military friendly program. I was also seeking a DNP program, so Iowa really had the whole package for me.The independence in the operating room during the rural rotations really make this whole anesthesia experience amazing.
