Mary Dirks, DNP, ARNP, CPNP-PC, FAANP
Dr. Mary Dirks has been a faculty member at the College of Nursing since 2000 and is a clinical professor and former assistant dean for graduate practice programs. She completed her BSN, MSN, and DNP from the University of Iowa. She has been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 1997 maintaining various pediatric primary care practices since that time including ambulatory care, newborn nursery, high risk infant, and school-based health care. Dr. Dirks is actively involved in many local, state, regional and national boards, committees and professional organizations including president of the Iowa Association of Nurse Practitioners, president of the Association of Faculty of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and chair of continuing education, conference planning committee, and treasurer for the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Iowa Board of Nursing APRN Advisory Committee and a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Mary’s expertise include leadership, collaborative practice, pediatric primary care, interprofessional education, dual track, and graduate education.
