Dr. Theresa Bechtel has been a part of the College of Nursing family since 2010, obtaining her Masters in Nursing Education and then working as an adjunct instructor and becoming faculty in 2016. In 2020 she received her DNP with a capstone project in implementation of a Mental Wellness Toolbox for all students at a college of nursing.

Dr. Bechtel has been practicing at UIHC as a staff nurse in adult inpatient units since 2008. She is passionate about her work and brings that experience into the classroom. Dr. Bechtel has obtained her certification in both progressive care nursing and nursing education. She is active in the Medical Reserve Corps and loves participating in community events. Dr. Bechtel's teaching passions include: First Year Seminar, simulation, community health and student mental wellness.
