Chuck spent his career at the University of Iowa working for 37 years at Hancher Auditorium. He retired as Executive Director in 2022. He loved the opportunity to connect people of all ages to the largest classroom on campus. Engaging students, faculty, youth, and others with Hancher artists to learn more about our world and especially more about each other was a joy for him. 

Chuck also loved the statewide work that included making friends in Iowa communities and building bridges with the University of Iowa. He enjoys people and Hancher offered him the chance to cultivate many friendships. Some of his favorite projects included the arts and health care. One of his daughters graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing, and he sincerely appreciates and values the role that nurses play in our world.
